Parade Grand Marshal is Honored
William J. (Bill) Parker receives an award from Headland Area Chamber of Commerce President-elect, Pete Crews for the honor of being selected Grand Marshal of the 2018 Headland Christmas parade. Friends and family gathered at a reception at the City of Headland municipal complex following the parade. Congratulations Mr. Bill!
It was a cold and windy parade day! Sixty five entries passed the grandstands as Pastor Misty Barrett of Headland United Methodist Church and Jeff Strickland of MusicMan Productions announced the parade entries. Santa road his sleigh, queens waved, bands played and candy exploded from the Corndodgers Farm candy cannon! What a wonderful way to kick off the Christmas season! The winning floats were the Lions Club Kazoo float - 1st place; Enfinger Pest Control - 2nd Place; and Wallace Community College - 3rd place. Thanks to all who helped make this event so much fun!
