Little Miss Headland

Little Miss Headland 1959-60 – Donna Sue Pitts bears the distinction of being our very first Little Miss Headland. She was also crowned Miss Headland in 1969, being our first girl to obtain both titles. Donna is the daughter of Sue Cutchen Pitts & the late Willie LaDon "Don" Pitts (Newville). She graduated from Headland High School in 1970. After that, she graduated with honors from Auburn University with a Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology in 1976 and passed the national exam receiving the Certificate of Clinical Competence that same year.

Donna married Fred Arieux in 1979, therefore Donna is celebrating three anniversaries in 2019 with the 60th anniversary of being crowned Little Miss Headland, the 50th anniversary of being crowned Miss Headland and her 40th wedding anniversary with her husband. They have two daughters who both live in Nashville, Tennessee, Lauren Arieux Bryan and Natalie Arieux. Donna retired with 28 and 1/2 years of service with Dothan City Schools in January of 2004.

Trivia: Donna's second cousin, Hollie Claire Pitts was Little Miss Headland 2001.
