We are extremely excited about a new event this year, our Women in Business Brunch! As many of you have likely noticed, many if not most of the businesses in Headland are either owned or run by women. We surely noticed, and we want to celebrate that! Women ensure this city operates day in and day out, and we wanted to recognize how important women are in our lives and our community. As the saying goes, "empowered women empower women" and we couldn't agree more. That's why we asked Kishia Saffold to speak at our event this year!
Kishia Saffold is a distinguished entrepreneur and the proprietor of the largest privately-owned childcare network in Southeast Alabama, Kiddie Care Learning Centers, with locations in Dothan, Enterprise, and Abbeville. Mrs. Saffold rose to national prominence in 2016 following her insightful interaction with Senator Bernie Sanders at a presidential forum. In addition to her accomplishments in childcare, she also ventures into the realm of photography as the owner of Short Stuff Photography in Dothan. Kishia has an impressive academic background, holding a Master’s of Business Administration from Troy University Dothan and a Bachelor’s of Art in Communications from Alabama State University. Demonstrating her commitment to community and professional development, she serves on the board of the Alabama Movement for Child Care and is the secretary of the Dothan Tuesday Rotary. Mrs. Saffold is an esteemed member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She shares her life with her husband, Jeffery Saffold, their daughter, Kiera, and their cherished teacup Yorkies, Athena and Zeus.
We hope you all are as excited about this event as Kishia and we are! This private event will be held at The Stockyard on the Square in Downtown Headland on Tuesday, April 30 from 10-11am. (Feel free to stay and chat afterwards though, we definitely plan on buying a lotus drink to go before we leave.) There will be fun, food and drinks, door prizes, comradery, laughs, and most importantly, a celebration of all the amazing women that will be there! Bring your moms, daughters, sisters, and coworkers, and come celebrate yourself!
