christmas 2735181 1920 400x232Headland will have a Holiday Open House and Tree-Lighting to launch the holiday season on Tuesday, November 28.

Merchants will stay open late with special sales and holiday treats for people to shop after normal business hours. Several businesses will also have customer appreciation/open house activities during the day.

Register for a grand door prize at participating businesses throughout the day. Look for the lighted luminaries that designate participating businesses during the event.

Headland Elementary School’s Kindergarten’s Holiday Sing will begin at 6:00 at the gazebo. The children will also decorate the square’s tree during the tree- lighting ceremony immediately following. Strolling carolers and the Headland High School Band will also entertain with Christmas music in front of businesses around the square during the evening.

Sundown Cinema, a free outdoor movie presentation at the square in Downtown Headland, will be Friday, Dec. 1, 6pm.The featured presentation is “The Muppets Christmas Carol.” Popcorn and refreshments will be available. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets.

Headland’s Annual Christmas Parade will be Thursday evening, December 7 at 6:00 p.m.The theme for this year’s parade is “Light of the World.” Santa will visit with children on the front porch of the library immediately following the parade. Thousands came to downtown Headland October 14th for the 46th Annual Harvest Day, the finale of Headland's 2017 Harvest Festival. The event featured more than a hundred vendors including festival food, arts and crafts, non-profits and businesses. Beautiful fall weather made the antique and collector car show, children's rides and games, and musical performances even more enjoyable. With more than 100 vendors and participants, you’ll love spending the day under the canopy of oaks in Headland’s beautiful downtown square. The event features arts and crafts vendors, an antique & collector car show, children’s games and rides, a variety of musicians and performers entertaining throughout the day and delicious food from non-profits and food trucks.
