New Headland queens were crowned last Saturday night at Headland High School Auditorium. They are Miss Headland Taylor Morrison, Petite Miss Headland Bella Danzey and Little Miss Headland Anslee Freeman. In the Miss Division, Bailynn Hamilton was 1st Runner-Up and Chloe Duke 2nd Runner-Up. Petite Miss 1st Runner-Up was Mari Ellis Brewer, 2nd Runner –Up was Abbey-Leigh Jones. Little Miss 1st Runner-Up was Shelby Barber and 2nd Runner-Up was Kinley Hughes. Taylor and Anslee will represent Headland in the Miss and Little Miss National Peanut Festival Pageants this fall.

Living Waters Counseling celebrated the completion of their vision for the facility with thededication of five new cabins on February 25. The Christian counseling facility is located at 2130 County Rd. 125 in Headland.

Two of the cabins are dorms and sleep 10 and three of them are buddy cabins for families and camp leaders. The cabins are available for youth, marriage and pastoral retreats. The cabins may also be used for disaster or crisis situations where churches can help sponsor a family in need. Call 693-3380 for more information.

New warehouse will increase unloading speed, improve product quality and supply

ALPHARETTA, Georgia, Feb. 21, 2017—Golden Peanut and Tree Nuts, a subsidiary of Archer Daniels Midland Company (NYSE: ADM), today announced that it is investing in the construction of a new warehouse and receiving area at its shelling facility in Headland, Alabama.

2016 10 11 harvest day 005The 45th Annual Headland Harvest Day was a great success on Saturday, Oct. 8th. Thousands of people attended the event that featured 100 vendors selling arts and crafts, food and a variety of retail items. The stage was managed by WRMZ Ram Radio as local and visiting talent performed. Inflatables, rides and games occupied children for hours as families lingered under the shade trees in the square enjoying the beautiful day. Dozens of cars were showcased during the Harvest Day Car Show, hosted by New South Cruisers Car Club. Harvest Day is held the second Saturday of October each year and is sponsored by the City of Headland and Headland Area Chamber of Commerce.
