Join us on October 4th, 2018 at 2:00pm in the Headland Public Library for our Grand Opening of Henry County Alabama 200 celebrating our 200th Anniversary for Henry County. This is our kickoff for a full year of activities during 2018 and 2019. It is sponsored by the Abbeville Chamber of Commerce and the Headland Chamber of Commerce.
Henry County was established on December 13, 1819 by the Alabama Territorial Legislature. The area was ceded by the Creek Indian Nation in 1814 under the Treaty of Fort Jackson. Henry County was formed before the Alabama was organized as a state. Abbeville was designated as the county seat in 1833.
